National Association of Realtors Safety Month

The National Association of  Realtors is bringing safety to light this month. Realtor safety is a very important topic and is often looked over. The NAR has comprised safety tips that will encourage Realtors to remain safe and unharmed. Sharing these tips with friends or family that are Realtors is definitely a must.

Tips for Realtor Safety:

1. Enact the CITO (Come Into The Office) rule.

Encourage your potential clients to come into the office. This will allow you to screen your client, especially if you have never met them before. Asking for ID can seem uncomfortable, but doing so will help with the screening process.

2. Set up a “buddy system.”

Realtors in groups is always a safe way to go. When going to showings or holding open houses, having another Realtor there with you and traveling in groups is always a great idea.

3. Encourage agents to trust their instincts.

Always trust your instincts, if something seems off, go with your gut. Going with your gut rather than ignoring it, is worth more than any sale out there.

4. Recommend safety apps and products.

There are many safety products out there to assist in keeping you safe and protected. Pepper spray, GPS trackers, and even apps such as MyForce that allow you to press an emergency button and have a representative help right away, are perfect tools to stay safe.
